BK Cauller Obituary

To my furry friend Bad Kitty: You were born unexpectedly in the garage at Carriage Hill and passed unfortunately in our living room at Hillside. Although your name implies misdeeds and shortcomings, you earned my love through your everlasting affection and loyalty. As the nemesis of three other felines at the York condo, you kept them on their paws while providing continuous entertainment for me. You loved to take center stage and let everyone know who was really running the household. Your daily cat schedule was mostly filled with eating, drinking, pooping, and sleeping, and you seemed to enjoy exploring mostly familiar places but occasionally finding new spots to sun, bathe, and nap. Once you tried the great outdoors for a few days, and that ended with a spider-bite and an acquired fear for adventures into the unknown beyond the doorstep anymore. Lynn and I tried to accommodate you with all of your preferred foods, change your litter and clean your vomit,  give you medical treatment when necessary, and supply toys and treats and all kinds of accessories to sustain your high maintenance demands. Most recently, and what I will miss the most is my first two years as a retiree and new resident of Wilmington, how you were my everyday, sometimes all day companion while I was at home. I would wake up in the morning with you nearby on a pillow, you would meow softly to remind me of your desire to be fed, you would join me on the couch if I was reading, working, or watching TV, and you were ever vigilant if I was eating anything that piqued your sensory interest. I will always remember your passion for turkey, cheese, salad, and even corn on the cob. You loved jumping on top of the clothes in the laundry basket that just came out of the dryer, just as we were about to fold them.  I will not miss hiding flowers from you, cleaning up a sleeve of broken crackers that you knocked on the floor to gnaw on, never really eating any of them, or looking for hours while you were hiding out in some secret place that may end up taking me months to find, but always emerging at your leisure, safe and sound, clearly bemused by my unfounded fears. I will miss you Bad KItty…
