Pauly came into our life early in 2021. He was a neighborhood adult cat that was abandoned on the streets of Philadelphia. We would feed him, but he would cautiously avoid any contact with people. One day, he showed up with a large cut and some scratches on his head and I knew that he needed medical attention. At this point, my wife and I decided we would attempt to trap and rescue him. Thank you for all the help from Forgotten Cats of Delaware County, a great organization that helps with low cost spay/neuter and trap and release for cats. After getting all his shots, fixed and medication, he had a new home with our loving family. We ended up naming him Pauly, because he was a really big cat and very tough looking. Pauly got along well with our other 2 male cats and it was great to see him play with his toys and have his own place to sleep. Pauly quickly became a favorite of our family and friends because of his name, size and personality. I remember we had him about a year before he learned to meow from our other cats at dinner time. During the last years of his life Pauly gradually developed into a truly loving cat. He enjoyed laying with family on the couch, getting petted, cuddling with his cat brothers, and laying on his back. He was finally able to trust people again. Unfortunately, Pauly was diagnosed with cancer and died in my arms with his loving family around him on July 8th, 2025. He will be sadly missed by his family. Pauly boy, I will see you on the other side of the rainbow bridge.
