RIP MY PRECIOUS CHONKER CAT
On Wednesday 10-8-2025 my baby went home to Heaven
Chonker came into my life in 2019 from ACCT Philly. Some awful person had taped him in a box and left him outside their building. Thankfully, he was found and brought inside, but even then, he ended up on the timestamp (euthanasia) list because of overcrowding. When I saw his photo online, I didn’t need to meet him to know - he was mine. Saving him was the easiest and quickest decision I’ve ever made.
It is difficult to convey through words how rare Chonker's disposition was for a cat. The calmest, most chill cat on the planet & truly unbothered by anything. He went everywhere with me... PetSmart, Home Depot, car rides, even walks on a leash. He’d sit in shopping carts and just take in the world. He was my sidekick, always by my side or on my lap, and he loved everyone who walked through my door, so much, that he would lay on their lap too even if he had just met them.
Chonker was a true food lover (hence the name!) and moved through life at his own gentle pace - slow, steady, and calm. As an anxious person myself, I found his peaceful way of existing inspiring and most times hilarious. I always described his natural state of being as, “orbiting Mars” because he was that zen. People would always stop to pet or hold him, and he loved every second of the attention. I always made sure to tell them he came from ACCT Philly - a reminder that rescue cats can be extraordinary and adoption is the only way. Chonker was certainly the most extraordinary of them all
Chonker, I love you forever. You were truly one of a kind. Thank you for choosing me and for bringing me peace and unconditional love every day. I can’t wait until we're together again.
