Lucy Grannas Obituary

Lucy Grannas

May 22, 2010 - March 31, 2026

Lucy was known by many names. Lucy, Lulu, Goose, Lulu Belle, Lucy Bug, Babushka, my paisan, and (when she was misbehaving) Lucifer.

Lucy crossed the Rainbow Bridge after a brave battle against lymphoma. Her spunky spirit and Westie tenacity were with her until the end. She was the bravest little pup you could meet.

Since the start, she was my constant sidekick and shadow, even going to work with me nearly every day. We rarely were apart, which makes her absence so much more profound.

She loved playing with plush toys, but wasn’t so much a fan of plastic or rubber toys. One exception was a hard, blue plastic ball which she went crazy for. Many scratches and dents remain in my baseboards from her playtime with that ball. Her favorite plushies were a gray dinosaur, which she received for her first Christmas, and a pink monkey.

She loved nap time on the back of the couch. She also enjoyed watching the world from that elevated perch. I think it matched her assumption she was queen of the world.

While many assume that Westies aren’t lap dogs, Lucy was an exception. She gave the best cuddles and loved lap time. She was also very loving and empathetic. She’d always bring me her favorite gray dinosaur when she knew I wasn’t feeling well and would just curl up beside me as if to say “I’m here and will try to make you feel better”.  And I’m so grateful I could be there for her in her final moments.

I will forever miss her joy, love, playfulness, loyalty, and devotion.

Until we meet again Lucy girl.
