Sammi Weathington Obituary
In Loving Memory of Sam
In 2015, our family welcomed home a rescue dog named Sam. From the very beginning, he came with his sister, Sadie, and the two were inseparable. They were truly two peas in a pod—where one went, the other was never far behind. They brought comfort to one another through every season of life, making countless memories together until Sadie crossed the Rainbow Bridge in March 2025. Though Sam carried on without her, a piece of his heart undoubtedly went with his beloved sister.
Sam was a dog with a personality all his own. If there was one thing he loved almost as much as his family, it was his chewies. Anyone who dared to hand him one quickly learned to keep their fingers out of the way, because Sam had a knack for nearly taking your hand off in his excitement. The same could be said for any small bite of food—he wasn’t about to let a snack get away.In his younger years, Sam loved setting out on walks, taking in the world one sniff at a time, and he never turned down the chance for a car ride. The excitement of hearing the leash jingle or the car door open was enough to make his tail wag with pure joy.
As the years passed, one thing about Sam never changed: he remained the sweetest cuddle buddy. Whether it was curling up beside you on the couch, resting his head in your lap, or simply wanting to be close, Sam found happiness in being with the people he loved. His gentle presence brought comfort on the hardest days and warmth on the quiet ones.
Later in life, Sam found another special companion in Lola, his beloved Bichon girlfriend. The two were rarely apart. They shared beds, naps, and countless moments cuddled up together. Everywhere Sam wandered, Lola was sure to follow.
Sam’s life was filled with simple pleasures, unconditional love, and unwavering loyalty. He leaves behind paw prints on the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him. While our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort knowing he is reunited with his sister, Sadie, running free once again.
