Spooky DeRitis

Obituary of Spooky DeRitis

Please share a memory of Spooky to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Spooky was born deaf with one green eye and one blue eye.  Because he was deaf, his other senses were heightened.  His nose could find food anywhere and no container or cabinet could stop him.  He was sensitive to vibrations, greeting you at the garage door with a large meow daily because he felt the door go up.  He was exceptionally smart and adaptable.  He hated being alone, being so excited we came home that he would jump onto our shoulders or into our arms.  He was leash trained, famous for his walks around Pennport, Philadelphia or visits to the Mummers Museum concerts where he brought joy to both the young and old.  Trained to use the human toilet, he loved catching his reward treats in his paws and mouth.  He slept between his parents every night.  He loved car rides and riding with the driver, which might be why he so easily took to his own Audi which he was to ride into his parents wedding as the ring bearer.

He will forever be missed, gone too soon and too young.

We love you Spooks, our baby boy.
