Tribute to Minnie Staib

7/30/07 - 5/25/22

I moved to Delaware in 2007 from New York after separating from my husband and I wanted to adopt some kittens. I found a cat adoption place called Forgotten Cats located inside Pet Smart in Brandywine Shopping Center.  I first fell in love with a tuxedo that I named Inca and then I saw this beautiful fluff ball Calico that I named Minnie. Unlike the other kittens Minnie came from a home where the momma had too many kittens so she had come from a loving home.  I was a massage therapist at the time and had a massage table made up that these two kitties decided to hang out on. They acted like siblings with little paw swats every now and then and soft nibbles when they could.  These two brought such joy into my life until I lost Inca at only age 6 to stomach cancer in 2013. Minnie was my fluffy vocal cat and I’m convinced she was part Siamese. I always remarked on her incredible color markings on her fur. She had a grey shaped heart on her tummy, it was her core of love right in the middle of her belly. She was the boss and always let me know when she wanted her breakfast. She slept next to me with her deep motor like purr. It has been hard watching her age as we all must do and I know this last year has been the most difficult for her. I so wanted her to make it to her 15th Birthday in July but it wasn’t to be.  I will always remember my sweet girl, I miss her something awful. But I feel she is still here by my side guarding the house perched on the back of the sofa with a watchful eye.  Minnie you were my shining star from here to eternity. You stole my heart but have left your paw print on my soul. Goodbye sweet Min Mins love and miss you. xoxo Love mommy.
