Louie was the little dog with the big heart who stole all our hearts the very first time we met him in 2011. He was a faithful companion who gave us unconditional love and the best greetings every time we walked in the door. His favorite activity was taking long walks with his family regardless of the weather or the temperature -- around the block, in local parks, on the campus of nearby universities, and, on a few occasions, on the beaches of New Jersey and South Carolina. Like most lap dogs, Louie loved being around people and was very social. All of the neighbors knew Louie by name, and he was never happier than when we had a houseful of guests celebrating holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions. His favorite foods were chicken and grilled salmon, and he loved his after dinner treats and playing with his stuffed toys, especially Mr. Bill and The Abominable Snowman. He was the smartest little guy with the biggest personality, and he could be feisty at times with a fierce independent streak. He may not have been perfect, but he was perfect for us. Our hearts are broken now that our time with Louie has come to an end, but we take comfort in the memory of the many good times together we shared with him these past eleven years. Rest easy little buddy until we all meet again – you will never be forgotten!
