Bennie Dawkins Reid Jacobs

October 4, 2014 - November 29, 2022

Bennie passed away peacefully after a courageous 20 month battle with osteosarcoma.  Ben was rescued from a drain pipe in Texas and fostered by the Mauney family before being driven up to his family in Pennsylvania.  Ben lived the first four years of his life on a boarding school campus, where he frolicked with students, happily accepting pats and belly rubs.  He later moved to West Chester, where he could be frequently seen walking through the neighborhood and numerous parks. He loved car rides and trips to his grandparents' house. Ben was diagnosed with bone cancer in February 2021 and had his front right leg amputated, becoming a Tripawd.  Even then, he continued to live life to the fullest, enjoying time hiking in the woods and eating cheesesteaks and milkshakes.  He was a champ at snuggling on the couch and loved playing on the beach.  Throughout his life, Bennie was an inspiration to all that met him and he taught his humans many lessons about finding joy in every day.  His presence was truly a blessing and he was loved dearly.
