Cane Snyder
? - 1/27/23

Cane (nicknames Canedog, Caners, Buddy) was a rescue who didn't get the best start in life in Kentucky, but came to live with his young family in September 2009.  He was thought to be about 1 year old on the day of his adoption September 21, 2009, so that became his unofficial birthday.

Cane grew up playing with his human brothers who were the center of his universe.  He followed them around the house getting into whatever mischief or games they were up to on any given day.  He knew the sound of the school bus and ran his little short legs to the window he could see out of...just to spot them walking up the sidewalk, tail wagging wildly.  Even when they got older and weren't getting off the bus anymore, he'd still run to that window when he heard the bus roll by.  He loved his mom and dad, but nothing could come between him and the boys.  He also loved laying in the grass on a nice spring day, running around and getting the zoomies in the snow, long walks with dad where he could smell everything on and off the path (he was part Bassett Hound), and most of all food of any kind...especially veggie chip eating with mom.  He could catch any chip thrown up to him...never missed.

Cane was not the kind of dog that would run away from his home.  In fact, he could be let out of the house...go do his business and walk right back in the house.  If something happened and the door was accidentally closed...he would simply sit right there until someone came to let him in.  He was a laid back boy who never barked at another dog or paid much mind to other yappy pups on his walks.

Cane never ever stopped loving his family right up until the end.  He left this Earth on January 27, 2023 with his whole family surrounding and loving him until his last breath.  He will live on in our hearts forever. Life is not the same without him.
