I remember the first time I saw Hagrid in the field across from our house. I thought, oh my goodness, there is a mid-sized bear across the road. However, upon closer inspection, what I saw was a great big black furry dog—a type that I had never seen before, and he was beautiful. As a dog lover, who has only ever had small Yorkshire terriers, big dogs scared and intimidated me. But Hagrid changed that. He was definitely a gentle giant who didn’t mind being petted. I am sad because I will no longer be able to see him trotting along outside, smelling and inspecting every thing in sight. But he is no longer in pain, which is an important thing. But right now we are all in pain, missing Hagrid very much. Joanne and Paul
