Obituary of Violet Michaelian
Please share a memory of Violet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Violet is named after a song called Violet Hill by Cold Play. When the song came out my previous Boston Marble had passed. As I mourned Marble I heard that song and it reminded me of her. I knew my next dog would be named Violet.
Violet was part of a trio and her brother was added at a later date. Everyone always asked me how can I tell them apart? Easy, she had a "V" in her blaze, aptly named Violet, and was the shortest of the three. Violet had many nick names. Some of her aliases were Vivi, Tiny, R&T (rough and tumble) Violet O, Toes and Veevee. She had a husky bark that you wouldn't expect from a small dog which she did not know she was. She was the boss of all the dogs, even her 70 pound brother. She had a big fenced in lawn. She was the only Boston who wandered out in the lawn like the brave girl she was. She even joined her big brother and sister barking at the wildlife. She hated getting her nails cut. She was our hardest one so her nails got pretty long sometimes.
Every morning when I used to prepare her breakfast she'd play with her pink piggy in the kitchen. I used tell her get your pink piggy, where's your pink piggy? She would run all over the kitchen looking for it. Her spot was the middle of the bowls. She loved to eat. She could take your hand off if you weren't careful. When we'd put small samples of human food for our cats in the foyer she'd sit vigil at the gate until you let her in to get what the cats didn't finish. She was also my helper. She used to come with me to feed the cats every morning, of course, expecting samples. As she got older I used to bring the samples to her, She would be always waiting at the gate for her sample.
In the morning, when we woke up, she was so excited and used to scratch the sheets, bark and bounce up and down. We used to say she was doing the cat box because it was similar to the motion cats do in their box but at a faster pace. She would sleep by our head between my husband and I. He'd get the stinky side and I'd get the snoring side.
She was the only dog that I had that would hug you. If you picked her up she would put one paw on each shoulder and hug. She also could sense when I was sad. She'd climb on top of me, put one paw on each side and just lay there until I was done being sad or I'd move her. She also knew how to give kisses. Anytime you'd need a kiss you'd just ask her to give kisses and she would. We called her rough and tumble because she was so tough despite her small stature. She was the smallest of all three sisters. She was most bonded to her sister Panda who now is lost without her, as are we. Our hearts are crushed, we miss her so much. Our home is empty without her. The sadness is unbearable. We are broken because part of us has left. What we wouldn't do to have more time with her. We didn't think it would end this way. She fought so hard but it was her time to go. We are so grateful for the 13 and a half years we were blessed with her in our lives.
The only thing that gives us solace is she will be greeted in heaven by her sister Jewel who passed in October of 2021, Marble and Fudge. See you in heaven my sweet little angel.
