Cochise everyday has been difficult for me to enjoy. I’ve been looking on your instagram photos and videos and realized we had a lot of good times together. All I do is cry and miss you laying next to me , your nose nuzzled in my neck and your sighs of contentment. The house is silent and empty without your presence, your soulful eyes , your happy wiggles and running like a compact bullet, your spins on the floor. You made me laugh and now I cry! I still can’t believe you are gone , I still don’t know why you were taken so soon from my life. We had so , so, many adventures together and birthday celebrations. Miss you Cochise, my Cheezy, my best friend. You will always have my heart and no one will ever replace you. I always say , you came at the right time in my life when things were dark and lonely . I want to thank you for loving me unconditionally for 8 years . I wish I could hug and kiss you one more time,. I guess the good do die young. I hope you’re enjoying life at the rainbow bridge where there is no pain anymore and I know you made friends because you were an amazing dog with the biggest heart .

Cochise was not only a great family dog, but a great friend as well. Each and everyday of our lives was impacted by him in one way or another and I for one, didn’t notice until now. Things go unnoticed when they are normalized, and Cochise being such an amazing dog, was overlooked in time.
Some may say sadly we forgot such a detail but in my mind, it’s a good thing it went unnoticed. It goes to show that there were too many good times, and come to think of it… I don’t think there has been a single bad memory of Cochise aside from his passing being heart breaking. From the small things such as the head nod he’d give you when you made eye contact or approached his bed to seeing him at the dinner table as part of the family and the paw he’d give to let you know he wanted to eat too. That is, if the giant puddle beneath him from salivating so much wasn’t a dead giveaway lol. He was not only a true protector of his family, but he stepped in to be one of the men of the house and make sure his mother was protected at all costs. I personally, have suffered in my emotions over the years and anytime that dark cloud of sadness started to rain down on me, Cochise was there to be my umbrella. I went through some really rough times and always felt like I had someone to count on that cared because he would always find his way into my room just to keep me company. Coming home from a bad day, just to see him go crazy in excitement is something you’ll never get from a human being. Sure there are plenty of other dogs on this planet, but no matter how many there are, there will never be another Cochise. He is truly an irreplaceable soul.
To one of my best friends, your presence will never be forgotten. Rest easy big man, you will truly be missed. We all love you.

Every time I woke up I always looked forward to seeing Cochise, He always made my mornings better and days in general. I miss seeing him run around the house and bark at Marbles and even run through the wrapping paper on Christmas day. I still can't believe he's gone…without him this house doesn’t feel the same.

Cochise, I am so happy and blessed to have met you and have the opportunity to be in your presence. You mean so much to every single one of your family members and will be missed eternally. You were the protector of the house and tough as nails… you fought hard and you blessed me by giving me the time to give you one last goodbye… I’ll always cherish those moments. Missing my Son and best friend. You were so special to me and to my whole being . My heart has broken into a million pieces and every tear that I shed I hope will reach you at the rainbow bridge and someday I will see you again and hold you tightly in my arms forever. You were here for such a short time and we didn’t have enough adventures together. Cochise will always be my little brother in dog form. He grew up with my two boxer girls and they absolutely adored him. I’m going to miss his warm bear hugs, his excitement over visits, and his soft velvety fur. Cochise was made of love in the purest of forms. He was sweet and fiercely protective over those he loved, especially his mama. He followed her around like a second shadow, always watching and protecting his human. I find myself searching the spots he used to be, listening for his paws on the floor, or his happy barks. There will never be another soul like Cochise and I’m so eternally grateful I was able to know and love him and be loved by him in this life.
