Obituary of Holly Trautman

Holly Baby Trautman

November 11, 2010 to October 2, 2023

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart, to say that our fur baby, Holly Baby, has crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully on Monday, October 2, at the age of 12. She was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. 

Holly came into our lives as a rescue when she was 6 months old. She was a mixed breed of Labrador Retriever and Italian Greyhound. Her favorite pastime was taking long walks and chasing the deer from her backyard domain. She loved to sit by the front window and watch the outside from the comfort of one of her many beds. Holly was a picky eater but loved anything her mommy would make her, especially scrambled eggs and roasted chicken. She was stubborn, jealous, and never greeted you at the door, but we loved her tremendously. She liked some dogs, but some dogs she disliked passionately, for reasons we could not figure out. Holly loved being with us most of all. Though she would squirm away from hugs and kisses, she would sit by you and follow you around the house. We knew she loved us unconditionally in her own unique way.

We will miss her loud snores; her unusual positions of comfort; the way she tried to trap flying insects in her mouth; and her ability to race down the backyard hill at top speed leaving a path of skid marks in her wake. Holly had this unnatural ability to pee with both hind legs in the air aiming her target higher than any boy. 

Holly will be remembered forever by her parents, Maria and Kirk; her sister, Melina; her grandparents; her extended family; friends; neighbors; and her dog sitters. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you give your fur babies an extra hug and kiss in honor of Holly Baby.
