Obituary of Sherlock Merkel

My sweetest, most amazing, Sherlock: you were the best boy ever. I know everyone says that, but it's only because they never met you. No one will ever compare to you. From the first moment I saw you and your little old man ear hairs 17 years ago, I was sold. And so began the best friendship of my lifetime, and hopefully yours too. I've never met another soul like yours, and probably never will again. You were that 'once in a lifetime pet'. God, we went through everything together, mostly I mean you went through my stuff with me. You moved in with me to my very first of place of my own, and were there for every happy and sad moment along the way, unwaveringly. The amount of my tears you soaked up along the years...I'm surprised you had any fur left. You still, until the end had a spark in your eye for every person you met, and especially for the laser pointer. The gingers and I miss you so badly (Mater stills sees you all the time), but how am I supposed to live without you? In the words of one of songs we always used to listen to all the time 'everywhere I look, you're all I see; just a fading f****** reminder of who I used to be'. Rest easy, my sweetest friend; I hope there's a world where I get to know you again
