A family legend. The one special animal that was given to us malara kids after the passing of our Grandpop in 1993. Cockatiels choose one person to cling too, and I’m so grateful that he chose me as a little girl just at five years old. 31 years later, the day came that no one ever thought would. The Joy Ricky has brought our family will always be remembered, through his songs that he never whistled right, the way he would lay with me like a dog, and being there through every stage of my life, he lived right there with me through it. Death is never easy to accept, but I know that outliving his life expectancy proves he was the happiest little bird and we did something right. Fly through the gates of heaven and wait for us Rick.
