Growing up, all I wanted was a dog. After lobbying hard with Dad, you came into my life at age 15. You were more than I ever imagined having in a dog. I was there to pick you up on that cold December day in 2007. You were so tiny and timid. But you still showed us so much love that day - like you knew you were headed somewhere special. You filled the last 11 years with so much joy and comfort for all of us. Leaving to go away for school and eventually moving out on my own were hardest because it meant leaving you. I’m so grateful to have shared so much time with you. I loved traveling with you. I loved snuggling with you (when you let me). I loved that you’d never leave our sides when you could sense how much we needed you. I loved waiting for you at the top of the stairs every night to tuck you in to bed. I loved being covered in kisses and seeing you wiggle that butt at me when I’d walk in the front door.
You were my bub, my buddy, my baby, my friend. I’m so sad I won’t see you on this side anymore - but I know we’re destined to meet again on the other.
It hurts so much only because you were loved so much. Thank you for being the best boy in the whole wide world. See you later, okay?
