Obituary of Ivan Norton

To my soul dog I use to laugh at people who would talk about their dogs as if animals were capable of providing a friendship and don't get me started on the people who actually slept next to their dogs I don't think I understood it fully until each time I stepped away, you were there every time I got up, you followed if I gasped, you turned your head, if I even sneezed, you ran to me when I would cry you really thought your kisses would take away the tears and when you saw they couldn't you decided to curl up in my lap till the tears stopped it didn't matter what I did or what I didn't do you were there even on the days I don't think I will make it through I know you are at home waiting for me you are at our home despite what happened if I was gone for 5 minutes or for 5 hours you jump and squeal with excitement the same exact way I now am saddened at the people who don't see the gift we have in dogs because you, my boy are not only my friend but my best friend and you, my boy will always have whatever spot you want on our bed because I recognize the agonizing truth that while I am your entire life you will only be here for a portion of mine but I promise you, my boy the impact you've made in my heart will be forever.
