Obituary of Isabelle Anderson
Please share a memory of Isabelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In the over 14 years that our dearest cat, Isabelle, shared with us, she gifted us with her grace, her gratitude, a most comforting peace & an exquisite love.
She'd been found with two kittens by a family in the Wilmington area who soon realized that the kittens weren't her own, for she was pregnant & too young to have already had a litter. So our lady showed her heartfelt strength at an early age, as she was acting as a mother to kittens that weren't even hers. Homes were found for the kittens but not for her, & she was sent to a shelter at the Delaware Humane Association. There she was named "Flower", & was fostered in a home while she gave birth to two little orange & white boy kittens. Again, homes were found for them, but Flower was returned to the shelter. Over half a year later, in my search for a lady cat, she looked at me through the glass window of the tiny room she lived in & turned her head upside down. From that moment my black-nosed beauty had my heart.
She loved mayonnaise, olive juice & especially my cereal milk. She would cuddle into me to be held during thunderstorms. We could find her in a slant of sunshine, by the warmth of a winter's fire, or sniffing the breeze from a window sill. She loved to play in grocery bags & sit in her own "cherry" box from Produce Hut. She enjoyed the company of people, sitting on papers, curling into her blue blanket, & purring while she lay on us before sleep.
She stoically endured lifelong health issues, but lived longer than anyone thought she would & had a deep appreciation for life. She died in my arms in the early predawn of a November morning. I miss her more than words can express and will cherish her sweet soul in my heart forever.
